Martin Ankenbruck Passes Away at Age of 87 Years; Funeral Friday Morning

Martin Ankenbruck, 87 years old, 1811 Lombard street, died at 3 o'clock yesterday morning after an illness of nine weeks from bronchial pneumonia. Mr. Ankenbruck was widely known among the older residents of the city. He was a charter member of St. Andrews Catholic Church.

Born in Germany on May 2, 1834, Mr. Ankenbruck was brought to the United States by his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ankenbruck, at the age of one year. They came direct to Fort Wayne upon their arrival in this country. For 36 years, Mr. Ankenbruck managed a farm on Wayne Trace, retiring about seven years ago. Besides being a charter member of St. Andrews church, Mr. Ankenbruck was also a member of the Holy Name Society and the St. Joseph's school society.

Mr. Ankenbruck was married more than 50 years ago to Miss Elizabeth Martin. The widow survives, together with two sons, John B.Ankenbruck (Margaret) and Frank G. Ankenbruck (Clara) one daughter, Mrs. Mary Nichter (George);11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral services will be held at the late home at 8:30 o'clock Friday morning and at St. Andrews Catholic Church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
