Tara Bennett, 26, of Anamosa, formerly of Decorah, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, following injuries she received in an accident from a falling tree limb Sept. 19, 2008. Celebration of the Life is Thursday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at Springfield Lutheran Church, Decorah, with Jan King officiating. Organist is Lorraine Meyer. Soloist is April Quandahl ("In the Garden"). Opening hymn is "Children of the Heavenly Father." Closing Hymn is "Softly and Tenderly."

Interment is at Springfield Lutheran Church, Decorah. Casketbearers are Ken Koster, Darrell Sersland; Matt Hogenson; Tom Hogenson and Terry Hogenson.

Tara Lynn Bennett was born Dec. 12, 1981, the daughter of Kevin and Barb (Hogenson) Bennett in Iowa City. Tara was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein Feb. 21, 1982 and was confirmed May 5, 1996 at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah. Tara attended Decorah Community Schools, Kirkwood Community College and DeVry University, working towards a business degree. Tara was a nurturing mother and her life revolved around her twin sons, Collin and Dylan. She enjoyed being social and enjoyed people.

Tara's survivors include her twin sons: Collin and Dylan Pasker; her mother: Barb Bennett, Ridgeway; sister: Karla (David) Goertzen, Marion; half-brother, Lucas Bennett, West Union; grandparents: Edward and Evelyn Hogenson, Decorah and Audrey Bennett, Hawkeye; aunts and uncles: Becky and Darrell Sersland, Decorah; Tom and Sara Hogenson, Oskaloosa; Terry and Theresa Hogenson, Muscatine; Beth and Ken Koster, Centralia, Mo.; Robert and Darcy Bennett, Gainesville, Ga.; Sam and Betty Miller, Independence; Beverly and Skip Baker, Elgin; Marvin and Betty Bennett, Wellston, Okla.; Barbara and Paul Hyde, Austin, Texas; Becky Bennett, Freeburg, Mo.; and Kirk Bennett, Yankton, S.D., along with many cousins.

Tara was preceded in death by her father: Kevin Bennett in 1988 [Correction: 1991] and her grandfather: Doyle Bennett in 1985.
