Blennie was born, December 4, 1924 in Sampson County, the daughter of the late Rhoda Goodrich Willetts and William Edgar Willetts. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Annette Willetts, William Aubrey Smith, Alene Smith Hansen, and Harvey Raeford Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-nine years, Wayne; daughters: Yvonne Lewis Bright (David, Sr); Pat Carroll Clark (Robert); Debra Lewis Coston; son, Billy Wayne Lewis and sister, Mary Willetts Earp (Wilbur).
In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren: David A. Bright, Jr. (Pam); William Scott Bright; Luray Carroll (Richard Bowens); and Bailey Alexandrea Lewis; as well as four great grandchildren: Caleb, Taylor, Katelyn and Kathryn as well as many nieces and nephews.
Graduating from Bolivia High School in 1942, she enjoyed time over the years with her past classmates. She became a wife and mother, later working for fifteen years as a rural mail carrier. She retired in 1963 and enjoyed time with family and friends.
The family will be available at the residence to receive friends. Please feel free to visit at your convenience. A complete family gathering will be at the residence on Tuesday evening, the 3rd, from 4pm to 9pm.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Bridge of Life Church, 2220 Mercantile Rd., Leland, N.C. Interment will be at the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
