Musician. Born in Hawaii, he was one of the most prominent drummers in the music community. During the 1960s, he recorded with greats such as Frank Sinatra, Frank Zappa, The Byrds and Thelonius Monk. In the 1970s, he traveled worldwide co-leading the L.A. Express band with Joni Mitchell. His compositions include "The Hissing of Summer Lawns", "Don't Be Blue" and countless songs with other artists. Guerin has produced many record projects including a series of jazz CD's for Oscar Peterson, Jon Faddis, Jimmy Heath, Ray Charles, Sonny Rollins, O.C. Smith and Keith Carradine. He also is the author of a drum book titled "Jazz + Rock = John Guerin". He died in West Hills, California.
