LYONS - Orle L. Dick, 78, died Aug. 3, 1986, at St. Anthony's Hospital, Hays. Born May 6, 1908, at Lyons, he married Hazel Haeckel April 20, 1940, at Fairmont, Minn. He was a retired farmer and was a lifelime Rice County resident.
He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chase, he was a co-op board member of Alden, Chase and Sterling, an ASCS board member, a Center Township board member and school district board member, member of the Elk's Lodge, Great Bend, and the Knights of Columbus, Ellinwood.
Survivors: wife, of the home; son, John, Wichita; daughters, Barbara James, Yardley, Pa., Joan Phelps, Beverly, Ann Staab, Ellis, Mary Reel, Carlton; sisters, Virginia Ross and Thelma Willett, both of Wichita; and 11 grandchildren.
Parish rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chase. A Knights of Columbus rosary will follow. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, Father James Hoagland. Burial will be in the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons.
