GOSHEN — Naomi Mae Everett, 81, of Goshen, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

She was born Aug. 25, 1930, in Marshall County to Charles E. and Martha L. (Schutz) Everett.

Surviving are nieces Delanie (Zeiger) Mikolajczak, Jeanette Hampton and Cheryl (Zeiger) McNerney, all of South Bend, Beckie Rice Smucker of Goshen and Debbie Rice of Phoenix; nephew Mike Rice of Granger; cousins Joyce (Joe) Yoder of Elkhart and Marylin (Ross) Cramer of Plymouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were sisters Eunice Rice and Doris Zeiger.

Naomi was a 1948 graduate of Lakeville High School, 1952 graduate of Bethel College and 1954 graduate of Goshen College. She was a missionary in Nigeria from 1954-1975. Then she worked at Bethel College from 1975-78 and worked at Elkhart General Hospital as an executive secretary from 1978-91.

Visitation was held from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 1, 2012, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. The service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, Goshen. Pastor John Moran officiated. Burial is in Bremen Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church or Greencroft Foundation Benevolent Fund.
