Lee was survived by his wife of 54 years, Odelia L Montoya; children Barbara Cofferen (husband Michael), Lydia Lopez (husband Ricardo Valdez), Albert Lee Montoya (wife Michele), and Robert Montoya (wife Ana); grandchildren Christine Simoes (husband Cameron), Michelle Blackmon (husband Cody), Angelo Lee Lopez, and Christopher Lopez; great-grandchildren Chase Simoes and Kylee Blackmon; sisters Arabella Montoya and Emily Nye; and brother Luis A Montoya (wife Rosie) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Lee graduated from Menaul High School, the University of Albuquerque and received his Master's Degree in Business at Highlands University. He served in the US Army during World War II. He retired after 31 and one-half years of service with the US Air Force. After he retired, he delivered papers for the Albuquerque Journal for 25 years. Along with his wife, Lee was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman, sportsman and gardener.
A Rosary was recited on July 13, 2010 at French-University Chapel. Funeral Mass was on July 14, 2010 at Our Lady of the Assumption, Lomas at Tennessee. Interment followed at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Angelo Lopez, Christopher Lopez, Ricardo Valdez, Cameron Simoes, Jack Stamp and Michael Cofferen.
