Fred Cox Rites Held January 10

Funeral rites were conducted for Fred Cox from the First Congregational Church of Arcadia Wednesday afternoon, January 10, 1962. Burial was in the Arcadia Cemetery.

Fred Eugene Cox, a resident of this vicinity since 1915 passed away at his home in Arcadia on January 8, 1962. He had been in ill health for several months.

He was born at Plano, Illinois, on March 2, 1877, and at the age of five moved with his parents to Aurora, Nebraska. He was married to Matie Eleanor Warrick on June 25, 1902, and to this union five children were born.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Kenneth of Nampa Idaho; three daughters, Beulah McClary of Oberlin, Kansas, Hazel Larson of Nampa, Idaho, Hattie Padley of Gothenburg, Nebraska; one grandson, Fred Eugene Cox (better known as Gene) of Arcadia and ten other grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Eugene, two brothers and one sister.
