Mrs. Hattie Janke Dies; Rites Today
A long-time resident of Waseca County, Mrs. Hattie Janke, 713 7th Avenue N. W., died at 12:40 a. m., Monday at Waseca Memorial hospital after an illness of nearly two months. She would have been 78 years old if she had lived one week longer. Cause of death was due to a stroke. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) with a service at the Pfaff Chapel at 1:30 p. m., with the Rev. Ezra Budke of the Evangelical United Brethren church officiating. Burial was in Woodville cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Leonard W. Bathke, Emerson Nelson, Einer Iversen, August Behm, Rudy Weber and Arthur W. Bartelt. Hattie Rottke Janke was born May 5, 1880 in Grunwald, Germany, the daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina Rottke. She came to Waseca County as a child. Survivors include two sons, Emerson and Kermit, Waseca; one granddaughter, Lynette Jane; two sisters, Mrs. George Hoversten (Martha), Waseca; and Margaret Mundt, Plainview, Minn., and two brothers, Ed. Rottke, Waseca; and Alvin Rottke, Plainview. She was preceded in death on December 16, 1952 by her husband Albert.
