DEATH OF L. O. PARK
Mr. Luther Park, a well known resident of Union City, died at his home here on Saturday morning, April 18, 1914, at 6:40 o'clock.
Mr. Park had been in bad health for more than two years. He was first taken with pneumonia and tuberculosis developed. Arranging his business he went to Texas and remained for several months. Thence he returned and left again for New Mexico, where he pent a few months, but the most desirable climatic conditions failed to respond and a few weeks ago he returned to Union City. Saturday morning he surrendered to the Grim Reaper.
Mr. Park was 42 years of age. He was twice married and leaves three children. His first wife was Miss Jimmie McCutchan, whose daughter, Ollie May, came to the union. Mrs. Maud Wready was his second wife, whose children are ed and Elizabeth. Mrs. Wready, sister of Mr. Park's first wife, and Mr. Park were married almost ten years ago. Mr. Park is also survived by a brother, H. Park of this city.
Deceased was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the W. O. W., Woodmen of America and Maccabee lodges. He was engaged in Union City s contractor and builder and was recognized and esteemed as one of our best citizens. He was born and reared in the Maupin neighborhood in Number Six, moving to Union City many years ago.
Services were held Sunday afternoon at the residence on First street, conducted by Rev. Zwingle, and the remains were escorted to East View by the uniformed rank of all three lodges with ritualistic exercises at the grave.
