The funeral of Mrs. Clay Metz, 93, mother of Arthur Metz, was held this afternoon from the Sawin & Dyer chapel. The Rev. Max Barnes officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbeares were James Walsh, jr., Harvey Lewis, jr., Samuel A. Jones, Albert S. Jones, William J. Foley and Charles Congrove.

Susan B. Arthur married Henry Clay Metz at Pardee on Dec. 6, 1886, and they farmed until moving to Atchison. Mr. and Mrs. Metz celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1946. Mr. Metz died in 1948. Surviving them are a daughter, Mrs. Jack Weatherford, 1004 Santa Fe; a son, Arthur Metz, of the home; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
