Myrtle Bohall, 96, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 16, 2011, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center, Jacksonville. She was born in Jena, La., and had been a resident of Jacksonville and St. Augustine for 60 years moving here from Carthage, N.Y. Mrs. Bohall was a retired teacher and graduate of Louisiana State College and JU. She was a registered member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), an active member of First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of St. Augustine, the Garden Club of St. Augustine and until her recent illness an avid bridge player. Myrtle was a U.S. government employee in Panama during World War II and returned home where she met her late husband, Gordon. She loved gardening and preserving things she grew. Thank you, Mom, for all the great homemade pies, cakes, jams and jellies. To all who knew her, she was a kind and gentle woman whose love and generosity for her family was her joy in life. She is survived by her three daughters, Gwen (GG) Loadholtz, Jeanette B. O"Connor (Tom Collins) and Bonnie Aspinwall (Glenn), four grandchildren, Dawn Procter, Tracey Estrada, Stuart and Maureen Aspinwall, and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Jan. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at FUMC, 118 King Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the church. St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine is in charge of arrangements.
