He was born, July 7, 1915 in Halifax, the son of the late Ira D.,and Emma K. (Bordner) Gottschall.
He was a retired distributer for William S. Hammaker road repair equipment. He was a member and served as the former cemetery sexton of St. James Church, Carsonville. He was a member of the Community Grange in Fisherville.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, helped with farming and was a good handyman.
He was the widower of Avis A. (Reigle) Gottschall.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 7-9 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m., at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., in Elizabethville. Funeral Services starting at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Simeon's Cemetery in Gratz.
