A quiet wedding was performed at the residence of Reverend W. F. G. Schneider, pastor of the local Lutheran church last week Thursday when Miss Esther Schmidt became the bride of Walter Burandt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Burandt. The bride is the step-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lauman. The bridesmaid was Miss Irene Schmidt while the groom's attendant was Theodore Burandt. The bride wore a pretty gown of midnight blue and and carried white carnations. The young people left Saturday for their new home at Shakopee where Mr. Burandt has a position in the Shakopee mill.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 3, 1986 for Walter C. Burandt, 89, formerly of Mound and Waconia. He died September 1, 1986 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He was born September 1, 1897 at Waconia, Minnesota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Burandt (nee Augusta Jaekel). On November 22, 1917 he married Esther V. Schmidt at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, Minnesota by Reverend Schneider.

Walter was preceded in death by wife Esther, sons Ralph, Arden and Waldo, great-grandson Jason, parents and brothers and sisters.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Donald and Mildred of Wayne, New Jersey, Roy and Thersia of Denver, Colorado, Gordon and Jackie of Minneapolis, Lillie Burandt of Crystal; daughters and sons-in-law Mildred Brown of St. Paul, Myrtle and Dwayne Fritz of New Hope, Donna and Reverend Reagan Benedict of Waretown, New Jersey; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Elsie Burandt of Waconia, Ella E. Burandt of Waconia, Ella D. Burandt of Waconia, Ruth Bruhn of Hopkins, Irene Segner of St. Bonifacius, Betty Graupman of New Prague, Ella Schmidt of Hopkins, Ruffina Schmidt of Minnetonka, Lucille and Lyman Baldwin of Montgomery, Albert Terwedo of Montgomery, and Gilbert Lauman of Monticello.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 3 at 1:30 p.m. from Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Mound, Minnesota. The Reverend William Moeller officiated and interment was at Union Cemetery, Mound, Minnesota. Chapel service Tuesday, September 2 at 7:30 p.m.

Pallbearers: Dennis Burandt, Gene Furqueron, David Fritz, Douglas Burandt, Robert Burandt and Reverend Reagan Benedict.
