Professional Golfer, Winner of the 1948 Masters tournament. Club Professional Claude Harmon stunned the golfing world by winning the 12th Masters in record-tying fashion. His three rounds of 70, combined with a third-round 69 gave him the a five-stroke victory over Cary Middlecoff. After the victory, Harmon returned to Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, to resume his summer duties as a head pro.
