John H. Ayers, 85, of Lost City,
WV passed away on Saturday April
18, 2009 at Harrisonburg Health and
Rehab Center.
He was born on March 16, 1924 in
Cabins, WV, and was the son of the
late Andrew Jason and Lucy (Nelson) Ayers.
He worked for Rockingham Poultry before retiring. He was a member
of the Mennonite Church.
He was preceded in death by a
son, Roger Lee Ayers, two sisters and
two brothers.
He is survived by two sons,
Wilbert Ayers of Lost City, WV and
Johnny Moses Ayers of Broadway,
VA; a daughter, Edith Helsley of Edinburg, VA; a sister, Viola Wymer of
Harrisonburg, VA; 11 grandchildren;
numerous great-grandchildren; and
numerous great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on
Wednesday April 22, 2009 at Laurel
Hill Cemetery, Lost City,
