Miss Alice Burgin, 75, died early Monday morning at the A.D.Price Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, where she had been for five months, the result of a broken hip, suffered in a fall at her home. Miss Burgin was one of the best loved and most esteemed women of the community.

She was the daughter of Temple and Sophie Oldham Burgin, prominent and wealthy citizens of earlier days and of fine old Kentucky families. She was a member of the Jane McAfee Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, a devout and earnest church worker, and a club woman of ability as long as her health permitted such activities. Cultured, intellectual and well read, Miss Burgin was an interesting woman, and a lovable companion because of her ready sympathy and understanding.

She is survived by one brother, Squire John Burgin; three nieces, Mrs. Lillian Curd Elliott of Kansas City; Mrs. Richard Moore, of Louisville; Mrs. W.C. Bailey, Harrodsburg; and two nephews, John Burgin, Jr., of Lexington, and Preston Burgin, of Burgin.

The funeral was conducted at the family homestead near Burgin on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M., conducted by the Reverend T. Hassell Brown, pastor of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, and burial was in the cemetery at Burgin.
