Prussian nobility, General. Descendant of the Hohenzollern dynasty and Hesse-Darmstadt. Best known as Prince Louis, he was the second son of King Frederick William II of Prussia. In 1793 he married the Princess Frederica of Mecklenburg . In 1795 he was appointed Commander of the First Regiment of Dragoons, whose command was stationed in Schwedt, but soon after died of diphtheria.
