Cansada Jones was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Sneed) Jones. On 24 December 1859 she married Lemuel Stokes in Montgomery County, Illinois and together they had one child, Jasper Clayton Stokes in 1860. Lemuel Stokes died in 1861 and Cansada remarried, this time to William Ciscoe, on 4 Oct 1862. William and Cansada had one child, Joseph William Sisco, in 1864. William Ciscoe died in 1865 in Memphis, Tennessee while serving in the Union Army in the Civil War.

Cansada married for a third time to Allen M. Caulk on 6 Sept 1866 in Montgomery County, Illinois and together they had 10 children between 1867 and 1886: Alice Madora (Caulk) Croft, John Albert Caulk, Theodosia Abigail "Docia" (Caulk) Embree, Arthur Monroe Caulk, Rosetta Talitha (Caulk) Clark, Lillie Jane (Caulk) Gritz, Sarah Susana (Caulk) Hine, Henry Chester Caulk, Bertha Lavina (Caulk) Debolt (16 April 1884 - 28 April 1968), and Edna Pearl Caulk. Allen Caulk died in 1913 at the age of 82. Cansada married a fourth time in October 1919 to Michael S. Sweely and they were married until her death on 24 December 1930.

Cansada (Jones) Stokes Ciscoe Caulk Sweely died on Christmas Eve 1930 and was buried beside her husband of over 47 years, Allen M. Caulk, at the Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield, Nebraska.
