Obituary
NORRIDGEWOCK -- Lillian Helena Berry, 98, went to be
with the Lord on Friday, March 12, 2010, at Inland Hospital.
She was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, on July
24, 1911, a daughter of the late Ewen M. and Perla (Garrick)
Williams. Lillian moved to Madison at the age of 12. She met
Afton L. Berry of Norridgewock and they were married on
Aug. 9, 1934, in Skowhegan.
Lillian devoted her life to her family; taking care of her
husband, children and grandchildren. This she truly
cherished. She was an excellent cook, and greatly enjoyed
crafts, reading and her plants. Lillian also enjoyed traveling,
going on rides and out to eat with family and friends. She
never missed an opportunity to spend time with her children
and grandchildren.
Lillian was a former member of the Norridgewock Federated
Church, now the Norridgewock Community Baptist Church,
the Margaret Williams Philathen Class, United Circle, Pairs &
Spares, the Norridgewock Senior Citizens and Extension
Group and the Jolly Belles Christmas Club.
Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband, Afton L.
Berry, in 1974, just shy of their 40th wedding anniversary.
She was also predeceased by her parents; two sisters,
Wenonah Rickards and Shirley Jordan and three brothers,
Gordon, Harry and Malcolm Williams.

A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
March 16, at the Norridgewock Community Baptist Church.
A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard

the spring at Oak Cemetery in Norridgewock. Those wishing
to send memorial contributions in lieu of flowers in Lillian's
memory may do so to the Alzheimer's Association.
