Mrs. Hulda E. Barker, the widow of a deceased Union soldier, who resided 1 1/2 miles southwest of town, on Eli Brindley's farm, died at 11 o'clock a.m. on Saturday last, aged 68 years, 7 months, and 26 days. She was born February 2, 1833, and died September 28, 1901.

She was twice married, first to Ambrose Quick in 1849. To them were born 3 children, of whom only one survives - Perry Quick of near Danville, IL. Her first husband died May 25, 1856.

On March 4, 1858, she was united in wedlock to John G. Barker. Mr. Barker was a Union soldier and pensioner at the time of his death, which occurred August 1, 1888. To this last union, 2 children were born, who survive their mother.

The funeral of Mrs. Barker occurred at her late residence at 2 o'clock last Sunday afternoon, short services being conducted by Rev. John W. Parrett, after which her remains were conveyed to the Thomas Cemetery and interred beside her late husband.
