WAS ONE OF THE PROMINENT PIONEERS OF MORTON ILLS AND VICINITY
On Friday, July 24, 1914, Morton Mills, one of its most valuable citizens, Rachel Figgins passed away in the morning. She had been in poor health for some time.
Rachel Rosecrants was born in Perry County, Indiana, the daughter of Jacob Thomas Rosencrants and Minerva Farmer. On the 24th day of May in 1874 in Perry County, Indiana she was married to Adams S. Figgins. They were blessed with three children, one of which died in infancy. The other two are Mabel Edith Figgins (Mrs. Fred Jarboe) and Effie May Figgins (Mrs. O. T. Cart).
