Deborah Kay "Deb" O'Dell (1951 - 2011)

LOGAN - Deborah Kay O'Dell was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Leslie Marvin O'Dell and Mary Charlotte (Robertson) O'Dell. She passed away peacefully at her home in Logan, Utah, on Dec. 28, 2011, at the age of 60.
Deb moved to Oregon in 1961 and then to Utah in 1974. She served a mission in Toronto, Canada, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the late 1970s. Following her mission, Deb returned to Utah where she attended the University of Utah and graduated with a master's degree in social work. Upon completion of her degree, Deb spent her life working with and for people with disabilities.
Deb was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in a variety of positions. She enjoyed the fine arts and traveling. Deb would often share her talent of playing the guitar and singing with family. Deb was especially known for her ability to nurture relationships and keep family members connected.
Deb is survived by her sisters, Linda Gailey of Pendleton, Ore., and Leslie Namitz of Lyons, Ore.; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Deb was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lyle O'Dell; sister, Donna Lea; and nephew, Cristen O'Dell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 350 W. 700 South, Logan, Utah, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A family burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Providence, Utah.
Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah, is handling arrangements.
