Paul Berghuis, 70 years old, 648 Ottawa street, a Muskegon merchant for many years died Saturday at his home. A lifelong resident, he engaged in the wholesale and produce business here for many years. He died Saturday at his home after a long illness. Mr. Berghuis, operator of a produce market on Ottawa street for the past 14 years, had been an active member of the Muskegon Elks lodge No.274. He was married December 23, 1900 in Traverse City, MI to Miss Nina A. Puffer.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2p.m. in the Witt Funeral Home with the Rev. William T. Reeves, Jr. rector of the St. Paul's Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood under the auspices of the Muskegon Elks lodge.
He leaves his wife; two brothers, Jacob and Peter Berghuis, both of Muskegon; one sister, Mrs. Peter Schalk of Muskegon.
