Adam served as a First Lieutenant and Bombardier on B-24 (#42-52064), 829th Bomber Squadron, 485th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Kings County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 12, 1941, prior to the war, at Camp Upton, Yaphank, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Manufacturing Foremen and also as Single, without dependents.

Adam was "Killed In Action" when the B-24 he was on collided during a combat missing over Kossen, Austria with B-24 (#42-52644). He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in France and was later repatriated here on March 8, 1950.
