Son of Henry Roland Jackson and Hannah V. Fulton Jackson.

He was married however his wife's first name is currently unknown.

Roland, who resided at 33 Cleveland Avenue, Newark, Delaware, served as a Private First Class, Company B, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

Roland was "Killed In Action" on Iwo Jima.

He had served with the Marines for eleven months and was decorated with a Purple Heart.
