John Nicol departed this life at the age of 95 years, seven months, and seven days.

His boyhood days were spent in Ohio and Michigan. When the call of the West was raised, he was among the first settlers to enter Missouri and Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Mary Eliza Atkins on March 2, 1856. To this union were born seven children, three of whom are living.

In early life he united with the Dunkard Church of which he was always an active member.

He served three years in the Civil War with Company G, Fourth Missouri Cavalry.

Twenty seven years ago he was left a widower. Since that time he made his home with his children, moving to Oklahoma in 1907.

Several Civil War Veterans paid tribute in person to their departed Comrade.

Those left to mourn his loss were his three daughters, Mrs. George Michael, Mrs. Hulda Blachley, and Mrs. Magg Masters. He had nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Wallock, which were hald at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Michael.
