Private services will be held for Lowell Ernest Parrish of McMinnville.
Mr. Parrish died July 17, 2002, in Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville. He was 87.
He was born Dec. 31, 1914, in Dayton, the son of Ernest and Grace Duzan Parrish. His mother later married Anton Christensen. When Mr. Parrish was in the fifth grade, he moved with his family to McMinnville. He graduated from McMinnville High School in 1933. He then worked in road construction for many years.
He and Anita Barker were married July 28, 1945, in Tillamook.
The couple settled in McMinnville. Mr. Parrish became a commercial painter for a company that served Richfield and Texaco gas stations. He later was a superintendent in the Yamhill County Parks Department until his retirement in the mid-1980s.
Mr. Parrish had traveled throughout the United States. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved flowers, gardens and birds.
He is survived by his wife.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Dahl.
