Benjamin was the son of Edgar and Martha (Thompson) Clarkson.
He married Sarah Elizabeth Carothers, 18 MAY 1886 in Clifton, Randolph County, Missouri.

Benjamin F. Clarkson, died at Hunnewell Saturday January 15, of pneumonia.
He was born February 8, 1855, spending his entire life in Shelby County.
In 1885 Mr. Clarkson was married to Sarah Elizabeth Carothers. To them six children were born, four of whom, with their mother survive. The children are: Mrs. Ethel Stewart, Arthur, Marvin and Otis Clarkson, all of this county. He was a member of the Christian church.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Hunnewell, Monday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. S. M. Branie of Shelbyville.

Ben Clarkson, age 69 died at his home at Hunnewell, Saturday. Death being due to blood poisoning. Among those who attended the funeral from here were Mrs. Will Clarkson, Mrs. R. M. Smith and Mrs. Maude Hamilton.

There is no headstone for Benjamin Clarkson or his wife Sarah Elizabeth Carothers Clarkson but is buried just to the south of his son Marvin Clarkson at the Godfrey (AKA Hunnewell) Cemetery, Shelby, MO. Headstone in pic is of his son Marvin Clarkson.
