Forrest Joseph Kell was born in McDowell Co, WV to Joseph Kell and Laura Ann Belcher Kell. He was the 3rd child and 3rd son. The family moved to Elizabeth City, VA when Joseph was very young. He was there in the 1910 census. His father was in auto sales.
When Forrest was seven he lost both his father and mother. Joseph died of a lung illness and his mother, 9 months later of a stroke. The three boys were separeted to live with their paternal uncles. Forrest was taken by his Uncle Frederick and raised with his family.
Forrest graduated from Scottsburg High School then attented Bluefield college. Upon graduation Forrest went on to Medical School.
He died of an unknown cause in Boston General Hospital at the age of 36. His brothers Thornton and Harold survived him.
