The funeral service for Dudley P. Hays of Paris will be at 1 p.m. Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home.
John Dale of Glendale Road Church of Christ in Murray and Victor Eskew of East Wood Church of Christ in Paris will officiate. Burial will follow in Puryear City Cemetery.
Chosen as pallbearers are Randell Foster, Troy Buttrey, Don Cate, Logan Dodd, Jimmy Wynn and Mark Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be elders of East Wood Church of Christ.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday and after noon Friday.
Hays, 90, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Paris Healthcare Center.
His wife, Thelma Louise Arnold Hays, survives. They were married in April 1946.
Born May 26, 1921, in Puryear, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Carrye Williams Hays.
Hays was a member of East Wood Church of Christ, where he served as an elder and taught Sunday school for several years. A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A family member said church was his life, and that he served his God, his family and his country.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters: Aleda (David) Rickelton of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Debi Hays of Laredo, Texas; three grandchildren: David Kendall (Angela) Rickleton Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., Jennie Rickelton of Winston-Salem and Patrick H. (Erin) Rickelton of Nashville; and four great-grandchildren: Ava, Jackson, Ethan and Silas Rickelton.
