ELLEN PERMELIA LATHROP BURIAL SUNDAY, JULY 20

Ellen Permelia Lathrop, daughter of John and Mary Jane Arms, was born in Wauzeka township on February 23, 1867. Later, she with her parents, moved to Scott township where she received her early education and religious training in the Methodist Church and Sunday school. She spent nearly all of her married life on the homestead in West Wauzeka, which in earlier years was well known for the berries and fruit produced and marketed. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died February 14, 1941. She leaves to mourn her loss ten children: 4 sons and 6 daughters:

Fallen Asleep (1 Co. 15:6)
Mother Has Fallen Asleep
Mother was tired and weary, Weary with toil and with pain; Put by her glasses and rocker, She will not need them again. Into Heaven's mansions she's entered, never to sigh or to weep; After long years with life's struggles, Mother has fallen asleep. Near other loved ones we laid her now in the church yard to lie; And though our hearts are near broken, Yet we would not question why? She does not rest 'neath the grasses, Tho O'er her dear grave they creep, She has gone into the Kingdom, Mother has fallen asleep. Blast of the earth shall no longer Throw o'er our loved one a chill, Angels thru Heaven will guide her. Jesus will still bless and keep Not for the world would we wake her, Mother has fallen asleep.
Beautiful rest for the weary, Well deserved rest for the true; When our life's journey is ended, we shall again be with you. This helps to quiet our weeping Hark! Angels music so sweet! He giveth to his beloved, Beautiful, beautiful sleep.

Those from away to attend Mrs. Lathrop's funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Lathrop, Mr, and Mrs Marvin Farnum, Mr. and Mrs Walter Lathrop, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Manley Porter of Loyal, Wis.; Edward Porter and Mrs. Goldie Brooks and son of Portersfield, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller, Mrs. Sam Nuzzo, Ben Lathrop, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Oudyn, Ruth and David, Platteville; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mundt, Beloit; Mrs. Hope Wellstein and daughter, Genesee, IN.; Mrs. Ruth Foster, Tucson, Ariz.; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Arms, and Mrs Ben Jones.
