He married Dollie Cordelia York on October 11, 1883. Following their marriage they lived on 87 acres of the old Decker homeplace. They later bought a larger farm on Decker Road and then they moved to some land on the Lamine River near Clifton City, Mo. In 1913 the family moved to a home in the city of Sedalia.
They were the parents of five sons and one daughter; and then until Dollie's death they raised their grandson Herschel Monroe Decker following the divorce of Estil and his wife.
Andrew's wife died in 1919 and he and his oldest son Estil and grandson lived together. In his later years he lived with his daughter Bessie.
