CSA Capt George Robert Cooper was the son of William Cooper and Susannah Perkins. Married #1 Elizabeth Farrell, who died 1864 of typhoid while he was a POW in Alton, ILL. At the war's end he had his children meet him in St. Joseph MO because Yankee soldiers were shooting returning Confederates. They immigrated to Collin Co, Tx near Mantaua. He remarried, Elizabeth Ann Rigg, there were no children. He was survived by his eight children.
