Born in Laurens County, SC, he was a son of the late Enoch and Alice TUMBLIN Bagwell. He was a member of the Laurens Second Baptist Church, a lifetime member of Palmetto Lodge No. 19, a mason and shriner. He was a supervisor for Laurens Mill and was a retired automobile salesman. Surviving are his widow, Sara HELLAMS Bagwell; brothers, Manning L. Bagwell of Spartanburg, SC. and Ernest Bagwell of Laurens; and a sister, Mrs. Frank Knight of Hickory Tavern, SC.
