THOMAS CRAIG DEAD

Thomas Craig, who died Friday at his home, in Americus, was born at Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, April 23, 1833. He had been sick for months.

He came to America when 14 years old; and located in Washington County, Illinois, where he was married to Miss Martha Clark, May 2, 1855. They lived in Illinois for several years, moving to Americus, November 4, 1866. They first located on Allen Creek, but moved to Americus the following summer, where they had since lived. Mrs. Craig died March 13, 1892 [sic].

Mr. Craig is survived by six children, four daughters and two sons, all except one son being able to be preset at this time. The children are: John Craig, of Emporia; Miss Isabelle Craig, who has been with her father for the past twenty-one years; Mrs. Jane Thompson, of Dewey, Okla.; Mrs. Elizabeth Boydston, of Bethel, Kan.; William Craig, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. Jeanette Hassinger, of McAlester,Okla.

Mr. Craig was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church, having been a member of the Americus United Presbyterian Church for almost fifty years.

Funeral Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. J. Seigle, at the church at 2 o'clock, this afternoon, and interment was made in the Americus Cemetery.
