Funeral for Mrs. Jane Brown.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jane Brown, a pioneer resident of Lyon county, were held Friday at 2 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Brislen, 1025 Chestnut street. Rev. W.S. Dando conducted the services, and Marshall Randel sang. The body was taken to Americus for interment. Pallbearers ere E.V. Hyson, G.T. Urquhart, V.A. Coleman, P.F. Peterson, Bruce Bitler and Chauncey Tressler.

Jane Anderson was born September 11, 1841, in Dunbar, Scotland, the daughter of John Anderson and Margaret Anderson. She came to the United States with her parents in 1849 and the family settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, later moved to Galena, Ill., and again moved to Iowa. The family came to Americus when the territory was being settled and it was here that Jane Anderson met James Brown. They were married February 18, 1868, and were the parents of five children. David and James died in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Grace Huston, died in 1918. Two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Brislen, of Emporia, and Mrs. Anna Barber, of Clear Lake, Iowa, survive. Mr. Brown died February 3, 1908.

After Mr. Brown's death Mrs. Brown made her home with her daughters. She had been in poor health for the past four years.

Mrs. Brown was a member of the United Presbyterian church.

Besides her daughters he is survived by a sister, Miss Grace Anderson, Olympia, Wash.; and three brothers, James Anderson, Spokane, Wash;; John Anderson, Timber Lake, S. Dak., and Alexander Anderson, of Canada. Five grandchildren also survive.
