Christian was the son of JEREMIAH HOSTETLER and MARY OR MARIA HONDERICH. He married Amy Emma Inbody (daughter of Jacob Joni Inbody, Jr. and Nancy Pearl) on 02 Oct 1856 in Elkhart county, Indiana. They had 12 children and lived on the homestead his wife inherited from her mother's family.
