Mr. Ponchaud was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Crystal Falls High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from the service he worked for Warner Mine, White Pine Mine and the Republic Mine. He was a member of the Tufts Rondon VFW Post 2891.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and John; four sisters, Betsy Anderson, Clarice Cocco, June Dragiff and Ludeen Tiske.
Robert is survived by one son, two daughters, one brother and many grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
