An obituary was carried in the Herald Press on 16 Aug 1962 and it reads: "Martin Strunk, 67, 700 Britain ave. Benton Harbor died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Strunk was born Aug. 24, 1894 in Poland and had resided here for the past 50 years. He was a molder by trade. Survivors include his widow, Helen: two sons, William and Elmer Strunk, both of Benton Harbor, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Swedenberg of St. Joseph and Mrs. Edna DeMorrow of Walhalla, Mich., two brothers Gustav of Germany and Emmanuel of Canada, a sister Mrs. Hilda Sireik of Germany, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, two nieces and a nephew in Germany. Mr. Strunk was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran church, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Ernst Wendland Burial will be in Crystal Springs cemetery. Friends may call at the Reiser mortuary until 10 a.m. Saturday."
