The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Jeannette E. Sobania, age 78 of Opole, will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 31 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Opole. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Jeanette died Wednesday at her home in Opole. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Friday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Holdingford, and again after 10:00 AM Saturday at the church in Opole. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Prayers will be at 5 PM Friday at the funeral home followed by the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Christian Women at 7 PM at the funeral home in Holdingford.

Jeanette was born May 19, 1933 in Elmdale to Isidore and Margaret (Puchalla) Bieniek. She married Norbert Sobania on August 28, 1951 in Mayhew Lake. The couple moved to Opole after their marriage. Jeanette was a homemaker and she sold Shaklee products. Jeanette also worked in the lunchroom for the Sartell School District. She enjoyed spending time with her children, gardening and raising chickens; she sold eggs for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church Our Lady of Mount Carmel Christian Mothers and she sang in the church choir for many years.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Norbert Sobania, Rice; her children; Diane Schaefer, St. Cloud; Karen (Bruce) Oja, Burnsville; Rose Ann (Tony) Chamberlain, St. Cloud; Roger (Linda) Sobania, St. Cloud; Joyce (Dale) Hasch, St. Joseph; Dale (Melanie) Sobania, Rice; Judy (Brad) Boulton, Avon; brother and sisters, Jerome Bienick, Joann (Frank) Miodus, Shirley (Don) Krey and grandchildren, Jeff & Russ Schaefer, Ryan & Keith Maciej, Craig & David Chamberlain, Dean & Derek Hasch, Kara & Caitlyn Sobania, Abby & Sam Boulton and 6 great-grandchildren.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Bernice Blaske.
