Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Jayroe, 93, menber of a pioneer Oglesby family, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lee Funeral Home chapel in McGregor. Rev. Harold Shirley conducted the rites, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Mrs. Jayroe died Thursday in a Waco nursing home.

She was the former Miss Clara Virginia Huddleston. She was born in Murfreesboro, Tenn. to Jack R. Huddleston and Nancy Caroline Edwards and came to Oglesby as a young girl.

She was married to Nathan Ed Jayroe, a farmer, on 15 Nov 1903 in Oglesby, Coryell Co,Texas. Mr. Jayroe died in 1943.

Mrs. Jayroe was a member of the first Baptist Church of Oglesby.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Elsie) Anderson of Waco, Mrs. Eddie Lee Petree of Gateville and Mrs. Lillian Sadler of Dallas: four sons, Carl Jayroe and Robert Jayroe, both of Waco, and Wayne Jayroe, and Herbert Jayroe, both of Dallas, a brother, Jordan Huddleston of Oglesby; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Following the death of Nathan's first wife, Ada, Nathan remarried to Clara in 1903.

1910 Census: Children of their marriage were: Louie, Monetta, and Carl.

In the 1910 census, they also had Nathan and Ada's children at home with them and they were: Paul, Lillian, and Etta.

In 1920 and 1930, additional children added to Clara and Nathan's family were: Wayne, Hubert, Robert, and Elsie.
