Actor. Born in Portland, Oregon, he was a versatile character performer in films and television. His film credits included "Citizen Kane" (1941), "Pride of the Yankees" (1941), "Bar Sinister" (1955), "Fearful Decision" (1956), "Jeanne Eagles" (1957) and "Gunman's Walk" (1958). For television, he appeared on "Playhouse 90", "Gunsmoke" and "Perry Mason".
