Ethel Shannon of Frederick, MD and formerly of Arlington, VA and Poolesville, MD, died at Homewood at Frederick on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
Survived by daughter, Linda Roof (Phil) and three step grandsons—Kevin, Steve and Danny as well as six great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Survived by son, Dan and wife, Nancy, Granddaughter Cassie and her daughters Brenna and Emerson.
Predeceased by husband Adam (Pete) Shannon, 1985, parents Harry and Betty Grubb and three brothers and two sisters.
Mom was a true people person and always on the go. Bowling and Bridge with her friends continued in to her early 80's. She went to Beautician School at age 40 and practiced her skills until age 75.
She volunteered at Arlington Hospital and belonged to the Arlington Forest UMC. She also volunteered at Homewood. She loved going to the beach and was a lifetime Redskins football fan.
Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Services by the Hilton Funeral Home in Barnesville, MD.
