She was raised in this county and attended the public schools, graduating with honors from the Malcom High School in 1912. She attended normal at Montezuma and received her diploma. She was called to Jasper county where she finished a successful term of school. She also taught in Sheridan township.
She was married to Albert Workman on August 12, 1913 in Rock Island, IL. To this union three children were born; Thelma, Fae & Gertrude.
She also leaves a husband, mother, Elmira McDonald; five brothers; Arthur of Marshalltown, Noble of South Dakota;Oscar released from US Services; Jason and Nelson of Malcom. Three sisters; Flora and Anna LaGrange of Bentendorf, Iowa and Rosa at home. Her sister Nellie preceded her in death October 23, 1918. Besides her relatives, she leaves a host of friends to mourn her death.
The services were conducted by the Rev Ireland with interment in the Ivy Hill Cemetery
