After Jody Walters died of pneumonia in 1934, Annie married Jesse Edward "Eddie" Brooks on November 16, 1936. Annie and Eddie were married 53 years.

OBITUARY FROM THE BAYTOWN SUN: ANNIE BROOKS
Services for Annie E. Brooks, 81, of Baytown will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 1991, at Navarre-Lee Chapel with the Rev. James M. Frazier officiating. Mrs. Brooks died Wednesday, Feb. 20, in a Houston hospital. She was born Nov. 5, 1909, in Old River-Winfree and was a lifelong resident of Baytown. She was a homemaker and had been a member of Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church since 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie E. Brooks. Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, E. W. and Karol Walters of Baytown; stepsons, J. E. and wife Fannie Brooks of Crosby and James E. Walters of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law, Laverne and Hal Ladd of Hardin; stepdaughter and husband, Oleta and Ray Harwood of Corvallis, Ore.; brother and sister-in-law, Oma L. and Lena Robinson of Dayton; sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Doug Caldwell of Liberty and Marie Vavrusa of Hallettsville; and sisters-in-law, Johnnie Robinson and Emma Lou Troutt, both of Dayton. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy and Gary Davis, Marsha and Glen McCullough, Linda Wheeler, Karol and Stuart Waldman, Khristine and Ron Harris, Terri and Mark Andreason and Kevin Ladd; great-grandchildren, Justin McCullough, Emmett and Joshua Thurman, Stephen and Adam Andreason and Kelli and Richard Waldman; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Navaree-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glen McCullough, Kevin Ladd, Stuart Waldman, Ron Harris, Gary Davis, and Mark Andreason. Great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Services are under the direction of Navarre-Lee Funeral Home.

"Eddie" Brooks; her brothers, Theron Robinson and R. H. "Bill" Robinson; her sister, Lorena Robinson Johnson; her grandson, Stephen Mark Walters, and her granddaughter, Kelly Ann Walters.
