Corporal Belcher was a member of the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on November 29, 1950 and returned to duty on January 12, 1951. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on February 12, 1951.
Note : Order of Burials, Book 2, page 44- 1951 says Death Date 12 Feb 1950, Korea
And Burial Date 9 Dec 1951 (reinterred)

Corporal Belcher was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
