Early in life, Armando was a Lieutenant in the Italian Army.

He emigrated to the America in 1912 to serve as Italian Vice Consul, and Philadelphia Honorary Consul from 1913-1940.

In 1921, Armando was awarded the Order of the Italian Crown by Victor Emmanuele III.

In 1951, he returned to his birthplace of Gioi, Italy.
