Wilbur L. Bergey, 80, of Hatfield, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 in the St. Luke's, VNA Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Nancy J. (Wolf) Bergey who died in 1995.

Born in Morwood, he was a son of the late Howard and Mabel (Lesher) Bergey.

He was the owner and operator of Wilber L Bergey, Inc, paint and paper-hanging for over 50 years before retiring in 2000.

Wilbur was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Souderton.

He was a member of the American Legion, Warren-Royer Post No. 234, several Shriners clubs, including Shiloh Lodge No. 558, Rajah Shrine, Reading, and the North Penn Shrine, the Damascus Commandrie No. 95 and the Order of the Eastern Star No. 185.
In his free time he was an avid golfer.

He was survived by his companion, Cora Szmovis; son, Torre L. Bergey and his wife, Lena, of Lansdale; a daughter, Ivy Bergey, of Sellersville; three grandchildren, Torre L. Bergey Jr., Garrett Bergey and Anthony Bova; three sisters, Arlene Constanzer and her husband, Walton, of Harleysville, Marilyn Venetz of Lansdale and Janet Speilman and her husband, James, of Harleysville, a sister-in-law, Arlene Bergey; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Leroy Bergey.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Souderton. Interment was in the Trinity UCC Cemetery.
