SAGE — Marie Alta Copeland Dwight, 91, of Sage died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, in Melbourne.

Born June 28, 1921, in Possum Trot, she was the daughter of John Wesley Copeland and Piercy Ann Sims Copeland.

She was united in marriage to Fred Dwight on June 4, 1947, in Reno, Nev. She was a homemaker. She was employed as a cook in California and worked at Pioneer Nursing Home in the kitchen. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Audrey Frazer of Washington, Cherylene Johnson of Zion and Donna Banning of Brockwell; three sons, Leroy Dwight and Gary Dwight, both of Calico Rock, and Daniel Dwight of California; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; seven brothers and sisters; a daughter, Dorothy McGowan; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel with David Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers will be Wilton Tompkins, Jerry Murphree, Van Johnson, Brandon Johnson and Daniel Wright.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday.
